As of January 2024, CU PCM is a Registered Club & Society with the Junior Proctor’s Office of the University of Cambridge. Our society promotes the activities of Cambridge University students and alumni contributing to the publication.
The aims of the organisation are to enable students in the University of Cambridge to undertake and support original, high-quality journalism within underrepresented communities in the national media, as well as highlight and facilitate possible career paths in the media, with previous editors going to work in professional positions in the media.
The aims of the society include:
- Crafting an editorial vision focussed on students and young people by contributing to the publication’s progressive and inclusive editorial direction.
- Promoting a diversity of student thought and opinion through upholding the publication’s relaxed editorial policy.
- Establishing a network of young journalists and writers in colleges and secondary schools across the United Kingdom to contribute to Opinion and Culture content, alongside any further journalistic output.
