Per Capita Media at the University of Cambridge
Alongside the work of the university wide Cambridge University Per Capita Media society, our executive committee has established a number of college constituent societies designed to bring leading figures in journalism, politics and the creative industries closer to our members. Through these societies, we host speaker events, panel discussions, debates and workshops – creating unique opportunities for students to engage directly with rising and influential voices shaping contemporary media and public discourse.
Caius Media & Journalism Society (CMJS)
The team at Per Capita Media (PCM) founded the Gonville & Caius Media & Journalism Society (CMJS) – we host speaker events with journalists, policy papers and creatives in the media (directors, producers and writers, etc). Founded in 2024 by Suchir Salhan and Asha Kaur Birdi.
The Newnham Poly
The second of Per Capita Media’s college constituent societies, The Newnham Poly was founded in 2025 by Anusha Salhan and Freddie Bishop, reviving the spirit of ‘The Political‘, Newnham’s first political society. The team at Per Capita Media (PCM) established the society to host speaker events with journalists, panel discussions with politicians and debates on contemporary politics – all with the aim of fostering more open and active political and media discourse at Newnham College.
Per Capita Media Weekly on CamFM
The Per Capita Media Team founded our weekly show broadcasted on CamFM. Thank you to the CamFM team, including outgoing Station Manager Daisy Cox, and our Managing Editor (2024-25) Sofia Sortino for their help in launching the show!
